ICTC Online Assessment Workshop on June 26 PDF Print E-mail

Partnering with Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC), SUCCESS Employment Services will be assisting to provide an pilot online learning workshop for job seekers in the ICT sector. This is an online self assessment workshop which would be held on June 26 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at SUCCESS New Westminster Centre. What are we pilot testing?

The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) is creating an online learning workshop that will teach essential information about the ICT sector and ICT employment in Canada. This learning workshop  will be launching at the end of June 2009. ICTC is conducting pilot testing throughout May to ensure that the workshop will be beneficial each of their needs. You will have the opportunity to see the workshop being developed and influence what they will include before they go live to the public.

ICTC is getting people involved across Canada and overseas to develop the subject matter, to test the tool and to provide feedback will ensure that we will have valuable and essential information to help ICT newcomers come to Canada.

The online workshop will provide courses and units to answer:

          For Newcomers

  • Employment and job search challenges (searching and getting a job)
  • English language, soft skills, workplace communication and culture skills (working and thriving in ICT in Canada)
  • Provide information about labour market and processes
  • Settlement issues: where to live in Canada based on ICT skills and jobs
  • Provide information on working in ICT in Canada
  • Help and resources about planning to live and work in ICT in Canada 
  • Guidance with workplace norms (teamwork, meetings, soft skills, career planning)
